Bonita Vista High School, Chula Vista, CA

Bonita Vista High School was faced with the inability to grow and maintain natural grass under a large tree located in a school common area and other outdoor lunch areas. The constant foot traffic from the students, tree roots and large shade coverage made the area near impossible to keep grass, let alone healthy green grass. Also facing water restrictions and other maintenance headaches, Bonita Vista was searching for a better solution to help enhance the overall appearance of their campus. After much research and many discussions, the Bonita Vista High School administration decided to go with SYNLawn for the common areas.

SYNBlue Premium was the product chosen for the common areas of the high school. The constant resodding and daily maintenance efforts were completely eliminated by using SYNLawn synthetic grass in the problem areas. After the installation, the school administration was thrilled. Having actual green grass in the common areas was a first for the school. And the fact they never have to water, fertilize or mow the area went a long way in helping them with their school maintenance budgets. The students were happy with the decision as well. The SYNLawn common areas have become the more popular areas of the campus for students to congregate.

During the first semester after installing SYNLawn the artificial grass continued to demonstrate its ability to withstand substantial traffic while maintaining the lush green lawn appearance. After witnessing the success of this project, Bonita Vista High School is planning to expand the use of SYNLawn on their campus. Additionally, other surrounding schools in the district are planning to replace problem areas with SYNLawn.
