Building a new home in central Florida, the homeowner decided to explore alternatives to the typical concrete pavement usually surrounding pools. His desire was to create a warm inviting setting and to provide a safe environment for his young daughter. Knowing how kids love to run and play around the pool, he wanted something soft and less slippery than wet concrete. Natural grass was not an option since the pool is in an enclosed area and constantly in the shade. Not to mention grass clippings and debris would tend to get into the pool filtration system and could eventually cause major damage. Similarly, using an artificial grass with an infill of sand and rubber crumb could also make its way to the pool and get caught in the filtration system. Rubber and sand tend to stick to wet feet going into the pool. So the obvious choice for him was to use SYNLawn.

Nearly 3,000 sq. ft. of SYNBlue Premium was installed around the new pool. The non-infilled artificial grass gave the homeowner the green space he desired and provided a safer play area for his young daughter. The natural appearance of the synthetic grass really enhanced the design of the pool area. With its durable nylon fiber, SYNBlue Premium is not susceptible to the effects of chlorine or other pool chemicals.

During the fall of 2004 the SYNLawn artificial grass survived the effects of three hurricanes that came through central Florida. While the pool's screen enclosure suffered structural damage, SYNLawn came through without any damage whatsoever.
