Wynn Las Vegas Resort and Casino

The Wynn Las Vegas resort is a 217-acre oasis in the middle of the desert. Located across the street from the world famous Las Vegas Fashion Show mall, next door to the popular Venetian hotel and Sands Expo, its a sight to behold for the hundreds of thousands who pass by on a daily basis. Wynn Las Vegas is 50 stories tall, with 2,700 rooms, features 18 dining outlets, and 18-hole championship golf course, and 111,000 square foot casino, a spa and salon, designer retail boutiques and just under 5 acres of SYNLawn synthetic grass. SYNBlue Premium artificial grass was utilized in all lawn and landscape areas and a combination of SYNSod and other SYNLawn golf artificial putting green products were used in the world-class golf practice facility. As the only resort to ever bear his name, Steve Wynn hand selected just about every element that went into building Wynn Las Vegas. From the hand-laid mosaic tiles in the entry to the trees atop his man-made mountain, and every aspect in between was chosen by Mr. Wynn. The landscape was no exception.

Concerned with water conservation in the drought conditions of Nevada and anting plush green grass throughout the landscape, Steve Wynn was convinced he needed an alternative to natural grass. After over a year and a half of research and testing, he chose SYNBlue Premium for his exclusive resort. Chosen for its durability, overall quality, ease of maintenance and its unparalleled natural appearance, it was obvious to him no other artificial grass could even compare. SYNLawn was installed throughout the grounds of Wynn Las Vegas.

The innovative artificial landscape grass is just about everywhere you look, all along Las Vegas Blvd. in front of the resort, along Sands Avenue and the designer retail boutiques, in both entrances of the resort, along every pathway leading to the grounds, in front of the Ferrari-Maserati dealership, on the golf practice facility, all around the pools and even in the high-roller villas. With all of those areas of grass, it would have cost thousands each month in maintenance costs and used millions of gallons of water with natural grass. While other artificial grass products might help reduce water usage, they still would cost more in maintenance costs than SYNLawn. As the only non-infill product on the market, SYNLawn was the obvious choice for a project of this type.

An infilled artificial grass simply could not be used for this application. There are numerous slopes throughout the landscape which would cause the infill in other artificial grasses to migrate out of the turf and require routine maintenance to replenish the infill. Around the pool would be another area where other artificial grasses could not be used. Infill in theses grasses increases the surface temperature, sticks to wet bare feet and clogs pool filter systems. SYNBlue Premium has no infill and eliminates these problems associated with other artificial grasses. Slopes are no problem, maintenance is reduced to debris cleanup and around the pool, there is nothing better. SYNLawn surrounding a pool provides a soft non-slip surface, is cooler than concrete in the sun, is not susceptible to pool chemicals and does not have infill to clog the pool filter systems.

On any given day, hundreds of thousands of people walk by the resort, many of them stopping to touch the grass. Often times the passerby is muttering to themselves, even arguing with themselves, whether or not the grass is natural. Wynn Resorts, Ltd. is very pleased with their choice of using SYNLawn for Wynn Las Vegas. Compared to known lawn maintenance costs of other resorts of this type, Wynn Resorts projected an eight month return on their investment of SYNLawn. Eliminating lawn irrigation and fertilizing, reducing maintenance to debris clean-up and never having to worry about a lush green appearance, makes SYNLawn a very wise investment.
