As SYNLawn continues to grow in the Great White North, we continue to tell the tale...
Before we share how we helped the Rotary Club in Kelowna, British Columbia, allow us to share a bit about what Rotary is. It seems most places you go, you’re bound to come across a Rotary Club. So what is it and what do they do? (If you’re involved with one or already know, feel free to skip ahead.)
From their international website: Rotary is a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders that provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and helps build goodwill and peace in the world. Approximately 1.2 million Rotarians belong to more than 32,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas. With charity in mind, SYNLawn donated a 300-square-foot putting green to the local Rotary group. It wasn’t as simple as delivering and unrolling some artificial grass. The green was constructed with the same careful precision at the event that goes into every SYNLawn installation, so the folks purchasing raffle tickets could see what they could win. As the event progressed, the turf was used for a long put competition. People came by and offered the usual, and always appreciated, positive feedback. The SYNLawn putting green became one of the most desired items at the event.Once the raffle was called and the turf’s new home was designated, the putting green was installed within 24 hours. The event was a huge success. The local Rotary group raised more than $43,000 for assorted charities and once again, SYNLawn was glad to help.
